The Dallas Cowboys' new Star complex in Frisco's $5 billion mile is getting another high-rise. And three office towers are planned, too.Developer Columbus Realty Partners and Cowboys owners the Jones family have submitted photos of a new 17-story apartment tower, planned for the mixed-use development at the Dallas North Tollway and Warren Parkway, to Frisco's planning commission.

Designed by O'Brien Architects, the apartment high-rise will be built on about two acres at Gaylord Parkway and Cowboys Way, just west of the tollway and across the street from the Ford Center.

Called Star House, the project will have "160 urban living units" in a tower built of limestone, metal and glass. The apartments will sit on top of a parking garage.

"Our average unit size will be north of 1,200 square feet,"  Columbus Realty CEO Robert Shaw told the Frisco Planning & Zoning Commission when it approved plans for the apartment tower.

Newly released plans for The Star project also show that three office buildings will be built along the tollway and Warren Parkway, adjacent to the new apartment tower. The office buildings will range from seven to 12 stories tall and will include parking garages on the high-profile corner of the tollway and Warren Parkway, according to plans filed with Frisco.

The planned office buildings will contain more than 1 million square feet of space.

The office and apartment towers will join the new Omni Frisco Hotel and Baylor Scott & White Sports Therapy & Research Center as the tallest buildings at the $1.5 billion The Star project.

The just-opened 16-story Omni is currently the tallest building in Frisco.

The Star complex also has a 398,000-square-foot office building on Warren Parkway that is almost fully leased.
